I Missed Davenport....

I told myself that I was going to make it to Davenport this year, but I bailed on it again. I'm really bummed that I didn't make it now after seeing some photos from this year's event. There were some really good deals to be had, especially if you were Knucklehead shopping......

Ride For Larry Pierce. Alabama Style.

Ok, here are the details as of now: 11:00 a.m. the ride will leave from Garage Company Customs. The address is 688 Highway 331, Columbiana, AL 35051. From there the ride will stop at the location of the 2nd Dixie Roundup for lunch and beers, right in the middle of some really badass back roads. After lunch we will head to the Haints' Chopper Kai Dojo for an after party in true style. That address is 2817 4th ave south, Birmingham, AL 35233........... P.S. an added bonus will be a one time reunion show from the band Arclight (whom Larry loved and listened to loud and proud) at the High Five Fest at Bottletree Cafe. The Bottletree is a mere few blocks from the Dojo, so the party can go as long as you want. See you there.

The Old 280 Boogie.

This is coming up. Last year I rode to this with Bowles and Chauncey, just to ride. Partly because riding motorcycles through southern Alabama towns is about as cool as it gets. I've never really been into hippy/ bluegrassy type shit, but my attitude changed as soon as we pulled up. In my eyes, it was like going to a place that bikers would be in the early 70's. Way cool. I'm riding there again.

First Trip of The Year.

The Bama Swap and Drag was this past weekend, which gave us the perfect excuse for a couple hundred mile ride. Very few photos were taken, but Derek shot these of the ride up there.

We realized Duane's bike wasn't quite ready for action, so it stayed at the shop. We made it about 12 miles before Jbody's bike said nope.

Derek and I jam-a-lamma-ding-donged by ourselves to the campsite while the others got their situations situated.

My panhead rode through a couple of rivers, some massive ruts, jumped some rocks, cruised some Alabama back roads, and started right up. Thanks panhead. I love you.

The swamp meat was pretty good. I slept in and managed to score a couple clutch release arms and I grabbed a tool bag out of a trash can. Everyone else seemed to come up on good shit though.

Fuck The Cold.

Winter is slowly creeping up and there's nothing that we can do about it. I wore a long sleeve while riding for the first time in a while the other day. I guess we can always put on more layers. Ride year round.
