First Trip of The Year.

The Bama Swap and Drag was this past weekend, which gave us the perfect excuse for a couple hundred mile ride. Very few photos were taken, but Derek shot these of the ride up there.

Getting ready last minute at The Dojo.

Derek ready to rock and roll.

Trying to start Duane's bike for its first time...... then trying to ride it on its first trip.

My bike ready to go.

We realized Duane's bike wasn't quite ready for action, so it stayed at the shop. We made it about 12 miles before Jbody's bike said nope.

Derek and I jam-a-lamma-ding-donged by ourselves to the campsite while the others got their situations situated.

My panhead rode through a couple of rivers, some massive ruts, jumped some rocks, cruised some Alabama back roads, and started right up. Thanks panhead. I love you.

The swamp meat was pretty good. I slept in and managed to score a couple clutch release arms and I grabbed a tool bag out of a trash can. Everyone else seemed to come up on good shit though.

A couple of smooth machines......

I swiped these photos from ChopCult of the outside of the Brooklyn Invitational. Not sure whose they are, but I caught myself looking at the photos longer than normal. Simple, to the point, and stylish. Good job.

Dojo Addition.

So, we officially have a ramp at the Chopper Kai Dojo. It's not the biggest, it's not the widest, but it's just right. Super fun. We are all going to get in shape and shit. BBQ ramp jam sessions have commenced. Even more of an excuse to not go to the bar.

Christmas Hawgs.

Bikes are what bring us all together, so I've decided to share some hawgs that are full of that Christmas spirit. Santa must ride a Harley, bro.

Bravetown.

J Body and I made the pilgrimage to Bravetown this weekend for their last party at that spot. We had an amazing time. Shit got out of hand as always, but way too much going on to try to explain. I'll post more photos later of hanging loose in Chicago, but for now here are photos pertaining to the party. Booze, friends, dirty swamp donkey river pigged strippers...........

This is Dustin and this is how you smoke weed out of a carrot.

This is Brandon and this is how you make smoking a cigar look like a dad sucking a dick.

These two. We were convinced that we accidentally ate weed cookies.

Boss Hosses.

Bad ass tattoo.

This is probably about as mellow as it got.

Monkey on my back.

Brian's hog.

The strippers's hog.

Shane Paints.

If you didn't already know that. He hooked Derek's tank up and it looks good.

Here's a reminder.

That if you are a local, then you should be at the High Five Fest this Saturday. You don't even have to be a local. Some of those sweet B.D.A.C. babes from Atlanta might even show up. Really good bands, beer, maybe a few choppers. There's nothing like partying during the day.

Again and again.

I have posted this photo up a few times in the past, but it's still one of my absolute favorites. So stare......

An on the road tradition.....

We've been known to pass an imaginary joint of weeds throughout the pack when we are traveling somewhere on our choppys. Granted this guy in the photo probably is passing something way cooler, like a real weed smoker or pcp. Get high, ride wheelies.

Don't Forget To Mark Them Calendars!

This will be a fun ass gathering. Doesn't "kickers" mean something different closer to Texas?

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Check it- This will be awesome.

Just Kickers is an event that our friend Jon Tubbs has his hand in making happen. Everything that I have heard about this so far sounds awesome. This shit is held in Oklahoma and I believe the point in that is to make it a good ride for the majority of people to get to. April 27-29 2012. Mark that on your calendars and go here for more info.

Tech Article: How to replace Shovelhead gaskets.

I realize that our blog here might not be the most motorcycle technical oriented, and I know that's what you guys are here to see. All of the other blogs out there get shit done and let you know that they know how to get shit done and photo document every last detail about every single thing. That's why I'm changing my ways and doing this here helpful tutorial on what to do when you have a blown head gasket on a Shovelhead. From now on, it's all serious around here.

First thing that you need to do when preforming the task of head gasket replacement is to make sure that you have the proper tools for the job.

The next step is removing the old gasket from the cylinder. I think the motor company makes a special head gasket puller, but I find that a saw is much more efficient.

You may need to consult your local chop expert if you are unsure about this next step. Place a new gasket on top of the cylinder and make sure it is nice and secure.

Put the head and rocker box back on the big and check for proper fitment. Glue may be needed for this procedure.

After you have completed the task of head gasket replacement, you have received 20 chopper cred points. Sit back, have a beer, and celebrate.
